Blue in the flowers, blue in the skies, blue in the seas

We had so much fun on the couple shoot with Laura + Pete. Initially we attempted to photograph the two of them on the viewing platform with tourists bustling in the background, but it just wasn’t working… Enter Ben. He cleared the place in about 20 seconds. Sometimes it pays to ask for what you want. I just hid behind my camera… With clear skies (all apart from the aforementioned blue para-glider, who was most welcome) and a clear balcony, the photos looked beautiful. The best couple shots come from wedding where the bride and groom are really enjoying themselves. When the bride and groom are having fun, their expressions are natural and joyful. Some of my favourite photos are the ones where the bride and groom are laughing at one of us being stupid (Ben) or making a mistake (probably me) or saying something inappropriate (Ben again).

Surrey + Cambridge University Wedding

Rupa + Anish had their civil ceremony at Cambridge University, accompanied by a week of parties and a huge finale, with their Hindu Wedding Ceremony, at Rupa’s Surrey family home. This was no ordinary wedding. Rupa and Anish are two of the loveliest, most genuine and most welcoming people we’ve ever met, and their families were exactly the same. It was such a pleasure to have been involved in their wedding celebrations.

Cambridge University Wedding Video

Working with East West Photography is always a pleasure. They’re a great laugh. Especially when Gurwinder goes in on how easy videography is. “It’s so easy man! I was doing it the other day. You guys do nothing. Literally, I just pressed record and left it running. It’s so easy!”

Stunts, Food and Dancing

This wedding was planned down to the very last detail. Not a surprise when the planner was the lovely and very militant Anupa from Principal Global Events! From the marquee’s to the food, the mandap to the contortionists. There were wow-factors everywhere you looked. And the music from DJ Kaos was always going to be good!!

Carillon Miami Wedding Video by Ben Marlow

Christmas Eve in Miami

Normally in the lead up to Christmas we’re getting the  boys presents together, desperately trying to get through out wedding video edit backlog before the 25th, heading to Majestic to make sure our wine stocks are high enough… But not last year. While I was still busy with the usual tasks, Ben was heading over to Peru and from Peru directly to Miami, where he stayed until Christmas Eve, chilling in the sun and filming this Promotional Carillon Miami Wedding Video. I guess when you weigh up Christmas shopping in Maidenhead with being put up in 5 star luxury, it’s not too difficult a choice…

Edinburgh, warm by night

I know that Brits talk about the weather too much. But I’m still going to open with it anyway. We were filming an Edinburgh wedding video. This was a wedding in April. A wedding in April in Scotland. April showers? NO! Did the sun come out? YES! Was it cold? NO! NOT EVEN AT NIGHT! And Flora + Jack so deserved it. Because rarely do you meet such lovely, kind, funny, genuine people. To be around them is to smile more!! If anyone had the karma points to keep the wind and the rain away from a Scottish April wedding, it was these two*

Top Speeches

My brother was Jack’s best man. I knew he’d been fairly nervous about his speech. I wasn’t worried for him at all, he was always going to deliver. But… then I heard Flora’s dad’s speech… And then I heard Jack’s speech… Both were so funny, charming and heartwarming. Through teary eyes… I was worrying for my brother. But of course he still smashed it.

These were honestly some of the best speeches I have ever seen. I’ve welled up each time I’ve heard Jack’s speech. And that’s about 20 times through the editing process… :’ )

 

* this is not to say that our rainy-wedding-day couples were rained on because of bad karma points. Weather is definitely a matter of luck, and not of karma.

Beverley Minster Wedding Video

Amy’s been telling me for years, when she gets married she wants us to make the wedding video. Which means I’d been looking forward to this wedding for years. And I always knew it was going to be amazing. But still, nothing had quite prepared me for Beverley Minster. Or for how amazing Amy was going to look… Pair the two and you’ve got one hell of an arrival-of-the-bride.

 Yorkshire Sun

It’s no secret that Yorkshire is beautiful. As soon as we hit the Yorkshire countryside with rolling hills of green and yellow, we started getting excited. The thing is, the countryside up there is beautiful in any weather, but we were in for a whole weekend of beautiful sunshine. It was so stunning, that Ben was up both mornings at the crack of dawn to grab some shots. Beautiful hazy sunrises behind Rise Hall and Yorkshire Minster were not to be ignored…

It was such a pleasure to be part of Amy + Tom’s wedding. Everyone was happy, everyone was having fun, and everything was beautiful. From Floral Lounge’s flowers lining the staircase, to the impressive TRIO of cakes from Juniper Cakery. We just hope the video does it justice 😉
