Hotel Monasterio de San Martin, South Spain Wedding Video by Destination Wedding Videographers Kissing Gate Films
A Snowy Beginning
A couple of years ago we were on a plane on our way to a skiing holiday in Lech. At Gatwick we bumped into Lauren & Will, who’s wedding video we had filmed the previous year, and found out they were on the same plane heading to St Anton. On the plane we then bumped into my friend Asha, who I knew from Gibraltar from when we were young. Asha introduced Ben and I to her then boyfriend, Laurence. We went back to our seats and carried on the flight. At some point in the flight I caught sight of Simon – Ben’s friend from when they were young.
Pretty drunk on coincidence (nothing to do with in flight service) we chatted and quickly realised that Simon was Laurence’s friend (the guy we’d just met) and he was also on his way to St Anton with Asha and Laurence… Of aaaaaaalllll the planes and aaaaaaaaallllll the skiing destinations and aaaaaaaallllll the dates to be departing. Here we all were. And they were all going to St Anton. We were going to Lech. Clearly we hadn’t picked the party resort…
South Spain Wedding video here we come
Anyway, this was the start of a beautiful journey. Which ended in Ben and I flying out to Sotogrande, Spain, to film what was probably the most enjoyable wedding of our career. Not only are Asha and Laurence two of the loveliest, most fun and most welcoming people we’ve ever met, but their whole wedding party were the same. And of course Simon was there for added entertainment and joy!
Hotel Monasterio de San Martin is a real pearl of a wedding venue. With a huge pool and gardens to set the backdrop for a stunning ceremony and wedding reception, and a beautiful old house – any couple who gets married here is really blessed. The wedding planner Juan Carlos and the owner Dennis were also so lovely and accommodating. Am I getting across that this was a really lovely day to be a part of?
Incase the wedding wasn’t enough, Asha and Laurence held a pool party the next day at Sotogrande Beach Club. The day started off relaxed, as injured guests nursed their hangovers, but after a healing lunch, it quickly escalated into mayhem, of the very best kind 🙂
Lesson learned from this whole experience – always book skiing.
Enjoy 🙂 xxx
